Process Payroll & Lodge Business Activity Statements (XERO)

Description

This continuing professional development course provides you with a skills and knowledge required to record and prepare payroll documentation, respond to enquiries and process accurate payroll data for manual and computerised systems.

This course may satisfy the continuing professional development requirements for bookkeepers, BAS agents, accountants, Tax agents and employees working in the business service sector.

This course will also be of benefit to business owners, managers, business partners, bookkeepers, assistant accountants and accounts clerks.

- Payroll system and legislation
- Superannuation obligations
- Payment summaries and payroll calculations
- Manual payroll and accounting for salaries and wages
- Setting up the Xero payroll
- Processing personal leave, holiday pay and leave loading
- Payroll tax
- Calculating a termination payment
- Payroll Liabilities, Salary sacrifice
- End of year procedures and reconciling payroll
- Business Activity Statements (BAS) compliance and other requirements
- GST, Pay as you go (PAYG) income tax instalment, Pay as you go (PAYG) tax withheld
- Fringe benefits tax (FBT) instalment, Luxury car tax (LCT), Wine equilisation tax (WET), Fuel tax credits
- Instalment Activity Statements
- Enter the transactions in Xero, make necessary adjustments and corrections in BAS

Students will require access to Microsoft Windows to complete this course.

This course has either written or oral supervised assessment. Students will require access to video chat for assessment purposes.

  • Relevant work experience in bookkeeping services using Xero or successful completion of the following competencies:
    - Process business tax requirements (FNSACC411)
    - Process and manage payments (FNSACM311)
    - Reconcile financial transactions (FNSACM312)
    - Process authorised payments (FNSACM313) OR
    - Setup and Operate Computerised Accounting Systems (FNSACC426)
  • Establish and maintain payroll systems (FNSTPB412)

    Complete business activity and instalment activity statements (FNSTPB411)

  • You will be given 8 weeks to complete this course. If you study 10-12 hours per week, we estimate that you will be able to complete the course in this time frame. However as this is an online course, if you prefer you are able to complete it in a shorter time frame. Students will require access to Microsoft Windows to complete this course. This course has either written or oral supervised assessment. Students will require access to video chat for assessment purposes.
